is not a fitness book at all. If I had to make one book a mandatory read for all of my boot campers it would be “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy. One thing that every transformation has in common is Consistency. In this book Darren Hardy breaks down your success (or failure) into your daily routine and habits. Sorry if you were expecting me to start discussing a book about the next miracle diet or exercise program. Consistency is not as flashy as the next fad diet/supplement/hyped up routine guaranteed to have you losing 20 lbs in a week, but it works EVERY time. Make it work in your favor and not against you!

This book gives some great examples on how your daily habits and routines are crucial to your success towards anything. If you have done a success session with me (if you are in Williamsburg, Va email info@resultsperformancetraining.com to set it up…IT IS FREE! 🙂 then you have heard me break down the number 3500. 3500 is the number of calories in a pound of fat. When someone tells me “I just have one beer (soda, piece of chocolate,etc.) a day” I start to break it down. I use the number 200 calories for their bad habit (This is an understatement 95% of the time, but I am horrible at math) and then break it down into………

200 calories x 7 days in a week = 1400 calories
200 calories x 30 days in a month =6,000
200 calories x 365 days in a year = 73,000 (I think)

73,000 divided by 3500 is 20 pounds. That 20lbs is either on you or off of you in the next year…depends on your habits and how consistent you are.

……..and that one workout you missed last week adds up when it happens every week.
