Reasonable Results: This area is a little grey. You have to be practical and realistic in your assessment. If you are hoping to lose ten pounds, and you find that instead you have gained fifteen pounds in the three months that you have been working together, you need to re-evaluate the situation. First, you have to consider your part in the effort. Are you doing exactly what the trainer has asked? Are you following their instructions to the letter? Are you eating what they have recommended? Have they made any dietary recommendations? Have you discussed your lack of progress with them?

Different Goals: You and the trainer have to have a clear understanding of what you want to get out of your training. If you want to improve your flexibility, and they always have you doing cardio, and related training, you need to find someone who will be more willing to address your personal desires.

Price: You are the one paying for their services. Not all trainers charge the same amount. Some trainers ask for a hundred dollars an hour while others will do the same work for half the price. The price that they are charging is not a reflection of their true abilities. If you can find a reliable trainer who can meet all of your requirements then there is no need to pay the additional money.
